Description with 19 photos. Photo: Finn Bertelsen. A dense, evergreen, dwarf shrub. Young shoots lepidote, brownish. Petiole densely lepidote, brownish, 2-3 mm. Leaf blade ovate, to 9 x 5 mm. Apex obtuse to rounded, without mucro. Leaf base rounded. Leaf adaxial side dark green, densely lepidote with translucent scales touching or nearly touching. Leaf abaxial side pale brownish, densely lepidote, with overlapping or touching, rather uniform scales, with max. diameter to 285 micrs. Inflorescence terminal with 1 (?2) flowers. Flower bud scales persistent during flowering. Pedicel lepidote, 1-2 mm. Calyx with 5 lobes, green. Lobes lingulate, slightly lepidote, long ciliate, to 2.1 mm. Corolla widely funnelshaped, almost hypercrateriform, glabrous externally, pure white, 13 mm deep, 18 mm wide. Corolla tube 5 mm long, 4 mm in diameter. Ovary ovoid, lepidote, with 5 loculi, 2-3 mm. Stamens 10, pubescent at base, extending from corolla. Style glabrous, inserted in ovary, greenish, c. 10 mm, sligtly longer than stamens, with greenish stigma, 0.7 mm in diameter. Capsules not observed. Locality: Kangding, Sichuan, China, 4400 m, lapponica moor land.
