Petiole reddish, scattered scaly, to 8 mm.Leaf blade elliptic, rarely ovate or oblong elliptic, aromatic, to 70 mm. Leaf apex rounded or acute-obtuse, with mucro. Leaf base obtuse to acute. Leaf adaxial side dark bluish green, white bloomed (young leaves), scattered scaly. Scales 3-10 x their diam. apart, uniform, 200 micrs. Leaf abaxial side glaucous, scaly. Scales 2-4 x their diam. apart. Scales colourless, golden or pink, narrow rimmed, uniform, 225 micrs. Waiting for the first flowering. Locality of origin: Wuxy Lake, Jiolong County, Sichuan, China at 3700m. Native habitat: SW Sichuan, SE Xizang, N Yunnan, China and Myanmar at (2100)-3000-3700m according to Flora of China.
